November 26th, 2014 Los Angeles , CA – Eva Mendes gave her first post-baby interview. The actress talked to Cassandra Huysentruyt Grey, of Violet Grey, about life as a new mother, her beauty regime, and about her cothing collection for New York & Company. In the editorial accompanying the interview, Eva is captured in one of her own designs for New York and Company.
The actress revealed to Grey, “I love a waist. I love a beautiful dress. When I am designing with my partners I try to think about the woman I’m designing for, where she’s going, what her life is like. That’s why I don’t design jeans or many pants. I think the easiest way to make a woman look beautiful is to put her in a dress that fits her properly.”
Eva is wearing the Coral Clusters Maria Dress from her holiday collection, available for purchase and online the first week of december. The dress is priced at $99.95. New York and Company celebrated the one year anniversary of Eva’s collection for the retailer this past September.

- NUMARI: Real Mom Style
Have you ever heard of a women’s wear line that offers custom fit dresses to fit your body? If you’re like me and this is a new concept, please allow me to introduce you to NUMARI.
I have always thought about how nice it was to get measured for my bridal gown and my bridesmaid dresses. And I thought about how nice it would be to be able to get every single dress I own customized for my ever fluctuating body type. However, I also thought that getting all of my clothes tailored was just too expensive for me to even fathom.
NUMARI is a new clothing line that offers custom fit dresses that are appropriate for almost every occasion. NUMARI’s preview collection features high quality garments designed by the talented fashion designer Bert Keeter, a Project Runway contestant. Mr. Keeter has designed for Bill Blass, Halston, Holly Harp, and Arnold Scaasi. The preview collection highlights Bert’s style: minimalistic, sleek silhouettes that can transition easily from day to night. A representative reached out to me recently offering an opportunity to order my very own custom fit dress. I jumped for joy! NUMARI is like a dream come true! You don’t even have to leave the comfort of your home to go get your measurements. There is an easy step by step guide instructing you to take your own measurements (without any help at all) in just under 15 minutes! After measurements and a few clicks of the mouse, your dress is ordered and on the way to your door in 3 weeks or less! What’s more to ask for? How about the most amazing, high quality fabric and a dress that fits you absolutely perfectly!

OLD POST OFFICE PAVILION: REAL MOM STYLE
Pennsylvania Avenue NW isn’t just home to the White House. It’s home to the Old Post Office Pavilion, a historical building that is one of the most popular tourists destinations in Washington DC. This iconic building is currently being renovated to become The Trump International Hotel, the DC installment for The Trump Hotel Collection. I have to admit, I love every hotel Donald Trump builds. I can’t wait until the opening of the DC Trump International Hotel and looking forward to my first family staycation there. I even packed a carry-on duffel on this day, a day I decided to take pictures of the beautiful architectural style of the building.

FROM ACROSS THE PLAYGROUND: REAL MOM STYLE
The winter weather seems to be wrapping up. And after about a half dozen snow days (aka school closings), I’m over it and ready for Spring! I’m already boxing up all my winter clothes to put in storage and making my shopping list for spring. A medium weight sweater, a scarf and faux leather leggings is what I throw on for a comfy and casual look to jet the kids to and from school, go grocery shopping and treat the kids to a few hours on the playground.

LADIES WHO LUNCH: REAL MOM STYLE
It feels really good to get out and spend time with my gal pals. I try to make this a weekly habit. Not only do I actually get to have real grown-up conversations, I get to play dress up, look like a grown-up and try different hot spots for brunch and dinner. As I wait for a cab, I cherish the time I can actually sit down, take a breath of fresh air and sift thru my emails or read my texts. Ironically as it is for a blogger, I don’t spend a ton of time in front of my laptop or scrolling on my iPhone. I use this weekly time I have to myself to deepen the relationships I have with my friends in person, as well as thru social media.

PLAYDATE AT THE NATIONAL BUILDING MUSEUM: REAL MOM STYLE
I’m always exploring Washington DC with my kids. One of our favorite museums is The National Building Museum. It’s one of the best indoor venues for keeping my kids active and entertained during the winter months while I can actually get a break and finally page thru my favorite magazines. I try to take the kids there once a week, with half the day spent at the Play, Work, Build exhibit and the Building Zone. It’s also one of my absolute favorite places to host my kids birthday parties.

A Snowy Day in Clarendon: Real Mom Style
There’s been a number of Snow Days since the beginning of 2014, which gives me pure joy. I love layering up in warm, cozy pieces. Winter weather inspires me to get in touch with my sartorial side more than any other season. I love the textures of all the fabrics and I enjoy the challenge of coming up with a warm, yet fashionable outfit complete with casual and polished outer wear. During the duration of the winter months, you can expect to see me in a lot of black and gray, not only because it’s effortless, but those colors area always chic and timeless. I especially love wearing a pop of faux fur to jazz up the look.
