The Front Row at Bethesda Row is the one event I look forward to every year! This event holds a truly special place in my heart in part because Barbara Martin, one of the principals of Brandlink DC invited me to the very first event four years ago in 2009. Celebrity guest and fashion designer Christian Siriano was honored in a pre-fashion show party complete with signature cocktails and endless hor d’ouerves from one of my favorite restaurants in Bethesda, Redwood. It was significant because I had just had my first child a year prior to this event and I hadn’t lost all the baby weight. Not only was I feeling insecure about my appearance, I was battling a mild case of postpartum depression and had just about dropped out of the DC fashion scene for good. This was the first event I had attended in a year since I had my daughter. One of the fashion photographers covering the event, Betsy Lowther of Fashion is Spinach asked me if I’d pose for a picture. That picture ended up in the Washington Post Express Newspaper and Fashion Washington Magazine. This event gave me the confidence I needed to “get back in the game” and inspired me to continue to focus on my family and my physical fitness. The event reminded me of what a great city Washington DC is and gave me a renewed faith to pursue my dreams in acting and modeling and eventually begin blogging. You see, Moms can do it all. And of course, I thank Barbara Martin of BrandlinkDC for encouraging me to see the light.
This will be my fourth year attending the event. And I’ve been shopping for the perfect outfits to wear to both the DC Premiere of the fashion documentary “God Save My Shoes” and to (one of my heroes), Andy Cohen’s book signing of his newly released memoir “Most Talkative”.
The Front Row is an event that’s free and open to the public! You don’t want to miss it! You may just find yourself inspired to make things happen too! May 17-19th. Check out www.bethesdarow.com for details.
