- Children’s Concert – Saturday, January 19, 2013.Washington Convention Center. Hosted by Michelle Obama and Jill Biden to honor children and spouses of those serving in the Armed Forces. The concert will feature popular young artists. This event is by invitation only.
- Commander In Chief’s Ball – Monday, January 21, 2013. Washington Convention Center. For members of the Armed Forces. Tickets will be free for invited guests, including active duty and reserve service members, Medal of Honor recipients and wounded warriors, among others, with troops overseas participating via video. Performers will include Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Chris Cornell, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson and Marc Anthony. A live stream of the event will be available online at www.pentagonchannel.mil.
- The Inaugural Ball – Monday, January 21, 2013. Washington Convention Center. Limited tickets were distributed to the public. The ticketing process is now closed. The idea for the event came from an 11 year old California student, Thandie James, who in 2008 questioned why no Inaugural Balls were held for youth who wished to participate of the celebration of Presidential Inauguration festivities. Native Nations Inaugural Ball
