Service: Terra’s Kitchen
Price: $74.99 for three meals serving two people each, four dinners for two people ($99.99), or two dinners for four people ($99.99). I opted for two dinners for four people.
Overall Impression: Great for busy weeknight meals and great for weekend dinner parties. My husband and children were impressed and enjoyed the meals.
I spend every day working and focusing on keeping healthy and doing things for my family. By dinnertime, I’m exhausted and don’t always have the energy or the brain power to think about what to prepare. I don’t want to bore my kids with preparing the same ole “go to dinner” either and I’m not one to go thru a drive-thru or fast food restaurant. I want our family to have healthy, nutritious, delicious meals at home without all the time it takes to go to the grocery store, chop up all the ingredients and select recipes from a variety of cookbooks for each appetizer, main course and dessert. I want to take all the “what should I cook” and the time consuming labor out of cooking. I wondered if there was a service that offered an alternative.
Introducing Terra’s Kitchen
I received a few referrals from friends and fellow moms and tried other meal delivery services. I was offered an opportunity to try Terra’s Kitchen, a pre-portioned, pre-chopped, ready to cook, meal service designed with your health in mind. I looked at the website and became excited to learn that the meals were nutrient dense, plant-strong, with options for those following vegetarian, paleo and gluten free diets. And what really caught my attention, was the fact that everything was pre-chopped and only took 30 minutes from kitchen to dinner table.
Terra’s Kitchen is a meal delivery service that sends you a box of pre-portioned and pre-chopped meal ingredients, with recipes you can make in approximately 30 minutes. They currently service Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Richmond Virginia. I was curious whether this service would save me time, money and assist me by providing something new, different, delicious and nutritious for my family.
The Review
The kit contained all the ingredients needed to cook three complete meals, each feeding 2 to 4 people, including recipes with step-by-step photos. Terra’s Kitchen also offers vegetarian, paleo and gluten free options. Delivery times are very consistent and really fit in to my busy daily routine.
We received 4 servings of both the Southwestern Steak and Sweet Potato Bowls ($15.99 for a 2 person serving) and Grilled Chicken Tacos with Avocado Goat Cheese Spread ($12.99 for a 2 person serving) that provided dinner on two different nights. Our total for a 4 person meal was $31.98 for the Southwestern Steak and Sweet Potato Bowls and $25.98 for Grilled Chicken Tacos with Avocado Goat Cheese Spread.
With a food philosophy of “feed others the way you want to be fed,” Terra’s Kitchen gets the gold star. Not only is Terra’s Kitchen committed to providing high quality food through their farm-to-front door delivery of meal kits, they’re also committed to finding sustainable food sources when creating menus that highlight fresh, seasonal ingredients. It’s really delicious, nutritious food you can make fast thanks to meal kits that contain pre -prepped ingredients that come ready to be used in chef-designed recipes that can be cooked in 30 minutes or less. You don’t need a sous-chef, when you’ve got Terra’s Kitchen.
