As 2017 is coming to an end, I wanted to have a full day and night where I could unwind, reflect on the amazing year I’ve had (all because of this blog), relax and create a plan for 2018. I was beyond thrilled when The Melrose Georgetown Hotel invited me and a guest to have a 24 hour staycation during the last week of December.
I invited my friend Morgan of the blogs: DC FunEmployment and As It Happens to join me. Morgan is one of the funnest people I know in DC. She immediately offered to bring supplies for planning our January goals and accoutrements to create our vision boards. I instantly felt like a giddy school girl again waiting to play with new markers, scented pens, colored pencils, glue, stickers, magazines and planners. This is our idea of an awesome staycation!
Upon checking in, the friendly concierge gave us the keys and announced that he had a very nice room for us, one of the best the hotel has to offer—the Presidential Suite. The customer service here is impeccable. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
The hotel lobby is beautiful and has a lovely bar, a library and a lounge with a gorgeous fireplace.
I opened the door to the suite and was greeted by the elegance and beauty of the furnishings and ambience. I toured the opulent suite feeling happier with each and every step. The Melrose Georgetown has completely captivated my heart! I am madly in love with this hotel.
Morgan arrived a few minutes later and the first place she looked at was the outdoor terrace, a huge space with two large dining tables and a clear, igloo with a sofa and coffee table. Could I fall in love with this place any more?
The Melrose Georgetown is situated on the prestigious Pennsylvania Avenue, near the White House. It is walking distance from a vibrant dining scene, trendy shops, and landmark attractions like Georgetown University, National Mall, Kennedy Center, Lincoln Memorial, White House and the Potomac Riverfront. Their chic ambiance, inspired cuisine and ideal location will make your capital experience truly inspirational.

And speaking of good places to eat, Jardenea is located inside The Melrose Georgetown Hotel and is one of the best restaurants in all of Washington, D.C. Offering Farm-to-Fork cuisine—it has the best tasting foie gras I’ve had in the city. Jardenea also offers some of the most amazing artisan cocktails I’ve ever had. I totally recommend checking out this restaurant before heading out on the town.
The Presidential Suite I stayed in is located on the 8th floor and has sweeping views of the historic neighborhood. Every room is beautiful, bright with lots of natural light, very spacious and elegantly decorated. The building is very quiet. The beds are plush and comfortable. The sheets are impeccably soft and the pillows are both firm and cozy. The terrace is absolutely breathtaking and perfect for entertaining guests during the day and night.
Looking for a great place to stay in DC? The Melrose Georgetown Hotel in Washington D.C. will do more than warm up your winter break! This is the absolute perfect place to stay for your vacation or to plan a luxurious staycation.
