Spring Break is almost here. I’ll let you in on a little secret—you don’t have to travel very far from DC/Arlington to escape.
The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay is one of my family’s favorite getaways. It’s an all-inclusive family friendly resort, less than a 2 hour drive from DC/Arlington. We try to visit at least a few times a year, especially over 3 day holiday weekends and during the summer. If you’re looking for a luxurious getaway, I highly recommend visiting The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay.
There’s family friendly activities, intimate dining, golf and relaxing spa experiences. With Camp Hyatt, parents are free to explore their own interests and enjoy quiet time while children ages 4 to 12 discover new experiences and adventures. Experienced camp leaders care for and supervise your children—ensuring that kids have a super time so that you can unwind, relax and spend time reconnecting with your spouse, spending time alone or at the spa or golfing.
Camp Hyatt includes activities like arts and crafts, treasure hunts, nature walks, sports and adventure and much more. They even serve dinner to the kids— with menus that are kid friendly, fun, fresh, flavorful and nutritious.
The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay is located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the town of Cambridge and has recently undergone a seven million dollar renovation. You’ll be treated to beautifully remodeled guest rooms and plenty of space for rest and relaxation.
Upon arriving at the hotel, there’s a peaceful calm as you enter the gates of the property. Walking into the beautiful lobby is reminiscent of everything we’ve come to expect from all of the Hyatt Regency. The floor to celling wall of glass in the Michener’s Library and Lounge captivates you the moment enter the vast hotel lobby. There was live music playing in the lounge and we enjoyed it while checking in. The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful.
The Family Petite Suite suited our family very well. With a king size bed, bunk beds—it was spacious enough to make us feel like we had separate rooms but cozy enough to remind us that we were there to spend quality time as a family. The waterfront view from our room was spectacular and made us feel like we were a world away.
Hyatt Regency Chesapeake even welcomes dogs. They provide your dog with a welcome letter, dog tag and a “Pet on Vacation” door hanger. The pet fee includes dog treats, bowl and bed.
For your planning purposes, there is a restaurant to satisfy everyone’s taste:
