Many of you have sons that will be leaving the nest soon to begin college. And I’ve got some exciting news to share to help to simplify your life and make it easy to cross off an item from your Back To School To-Do List.

Last week, my friend Angelica of Clarendon Moms and I partnered with Smashbox for an exciting event at the Pentagon City Nordstrom, where our invited guests learned how to make the perfect cat-eye. We had such a fun time and we even got the chance to play along and test out all of the great Smashbox make-up. I have to say a super thank you to Rene, the head Smashbox make-up artist, who did an awesome job of explaining how to use all of the different products. It was a great night and the event was a super success!!

Lululemon has launched a brand new line of casual clothes for outside the yoga studio that includes sundresses, pants and tank tops. The line, called “&Go,” targets women who are “out the door at daybreak and moving until midnight,” Lululemon says. The ad resonates with women, “You don’t have time for a wardrobe that keeps forcing you to change. You’re busy living. We get it.”  &Go, which is being sold online and in stores, launched last week. Six of the 12 products that were part of the debut sold out in a matter of hours, according to Canaccord Genuity analyst Camilo Lyon.

The line’s shorts retail at $54, tops for $58, dresses for $198 and pants cost between $108 and $118. Lyon says the new line is proof that Lululemon “is still very much relevant and not fading,” despite a recent glitch in a recalled line of yoga pants.

“In our opinion, it is the most progressive, fashion-forward line the company has brought to market in quite some time,” Lyon said in a note to clients  last week. And the line looks pretty hip to a busy mom like me! What do you think about the multiple purpose line of clothes?

Sarah Jessica Parker Launches “SJP” Shoe Line at Nordstrom, Friday February 28th

Have you ever imagined being the character Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City” or at least day dreamed about what it would be like to have her shoe collection in your closet? Well, now you can.  Parker worked with the CEO of Manolo Blahnik, George Malkemus, on the new collection.

Sarah Jessica Parker has designed a collection of shoes, handbags and a trench coat for Nordstrom that launches Friday, February 28th. The SJP Collection aims to make shoe-aholics swoon with pumps and flirty, strappy stilettos in a variety of colors such as mint, purple and mauve. They’re made in Italy and named after Ms. Parker’s fashion influences, including a pair dubbed “Carrie” and another called “Maud” for renowned fashion designer Maud Frizon.

“I’ve taken inspiration from things in my life such as the grosgrain ribbons I tied in my hair as a girl to the flower accents from the ‘Sex and the City’ wardrobe to references to classic styles from the late ’70s and early ’80s,” Ms. Parker said in a statement.

Handbags were named after some of Sarah Jessica Parker’s favorite spots in New York City. One of my favorites, the “Waverly” cross-body bag and the “Beekman” clutch are just two examples. The “Manhattan” trench comes in navy or natural colors and is designed to flatter with an A-line fit and skirted silhouette.

“I’m a firm believer in quality and timelessness and have created this collection with the hopes that women will love wearing it for years to come,” she said.

Priced affordably, shoes will range from $195 to $500, and handbags will be from $245-$375. The trench will retail for $495. The line launches on Friday, February 28th in select Nordstrom stores including a public reception and launch at the Nordstrom in Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia from 6 PM to 9 PM. SJP shoes will also be available online at www.nordstrom.com.

The new Kardashian Kids Collection will be debuting exclusively at Babies ‘R’ Us on March 15, the collection for girls will include 30 pieces for newborns to ages 24 months. The line ranges from newborn onesies, snuggly caps and cozy blankets to two-piece sets, jackets and dresses.  It features trendy details such as peplums, lace, leatherette, gold trim and animal print.  Prices range from $14.99 to $29.99.

“Since becoming a mom, I’ve been so inspired to create Kardashian Kids with perfect prints, heavenly fabrics for a baby’s skin and to bring fashion to the baby world that is affordable,” said Kourtney, mother of Mason and Penelope.

“We started this idea when Kourtney was pregnant with Penelope,” said Kim, mother of North. ”It was mainly Kourtney who was the inspiration, but as I got pregnant, I started to chime in. Until you have your own child, you don’t realize how important it is for fabrics to be extra soft and accessible.”

Khloe added, “We hope the charming patterns and the uniquely stylish items are gifts new parents will be delighted to open.”
