August is a great time to schedule all your Back-To-School check-ups and appointments. First on my To-Do List is getting my children’s eyes examined at Treehouse Eyes. We show our children the world, but our kids still need to be able to see it for themselves. I recently took my daughter Ella to our local Treehouse Eyes practice for a comprehensive eye exam to check for vision problems like myopia.
Myopia is short-sightedness, an eye condition where distant objects aren’t seen clearly. It’s a common eye condition in school-age children. This condition can progress until the eye stops growing. That’s why it’s important to make a visit to an optometrist before your child starts school & then at regular intervals as advised by your family optometrist.
Some signs of myopia in your child are:
- Squinting
- Difficulty seeing while reading
- Sitting too close to tablets, smart phones & television
There’s an increase in childhood myopia rates. Many researchers believe increased screen time on devices and reduced time outdoors and in nature contribute greatly to the problem. Myopia leads to struggles in activities and school for your child because of poor vision and increased eye disease risks. Luckily, Treehouse Eyes is dedicated to giving children better vision through life by providing a suite of myopia solutions for children across the country. They’re also one of the first organizations to adopt ACUVUE Abiliti Overnight Therapeutic Lenses, crafted specifically to match your child’s eye based on its unique corneal shape to temporarily reshape the cornea.
Eye exams are crucial to detecting vision problems. Undiagnosed myopia can lead to serious health conditions later in life. Make sure to add a Myopia Specialist like Treehouse Eyes to your Back-To-School To-Do List!
How it works:
Step 1: Eye Exam & Evaluation
Step 2: Treehouse Eyes Doctor will review your child’s risk factors and take additional measurements that are done exclusively by myopia specialists.
Step 3: Treatment (if eligible) can begin immediately. Your Treehouse Eyes doctor will customize a plan for your child immediately to get the best possible results.
You can make a difference in your child’s vision. The visit was a lot of fun for me and my 14 year old daughter Ella, who will be starting High School this fall. The initial consultation was fast, completely painless and very easy. Our doctor was warm, friendly and answered every question we had about our eyes and eye health. I wish I had had an eye doctor like the ones at Treehouse Eyes when I was growing up!
