My eight year old son Logan has decided he wants to be both a rock star and an actor when he grows up. He enjoys watching Twenty One Pilots’ live shows on YouTube and is completely captivated by singer Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun. Logan loves the fact that they jump around on stage, wear skeleton masks, sound absolutely amazing and have millions of adoring fans. He pointed to one show in particular and said “I want to learn how to play drums and be in a band.” His birthday was around the corner and I remembered seeing Bach to Rock while I was driving and I decided to book his party there this year.
Bach To Rock offers individual music lessons, group classes, toddler programs, beat refiner DJ lessons, birthday parties and music camps. Their programs are not just about playing an instrument; it’s about being team oriented. Students in the Bach To Rock music program are learning how to play by jamming together with their fellow students. By taking the focus off the individual and creating a team dynamic, students enjoy a more supportive and motivating environment in which to learn. Kids feel inspired to be part of a team that accomplishes a really great recording in the studio and a really great live performance for their audience. The team dynamic makes it fun to practice and allows kids to become more invested in the learning process.
Logan’s Party
Logan decided to go with the Rock Birthday Party. Bach to Rock provided an awesome Party Director by the name of Gabe. He was extremely musically talented, friendly, passionate, energetic and knew exactly how to lead the kids and inspire them to their greatest potential while having a ton of fun. Logan picked the song “Treasure” by Bruno Mars to learn to play with his “band” of friends. Gabe divided the kids into groups based on what each child wanted to play. The keyboards and drums were the popular instruments. The kids weren’t interested in playing guitar or singing back-up. Gabe directed the kids on each of their parts with gentle and fun instructions. He carefully went over the lyrics to the song with the group and managed their practice session before he announced it was time to start the professional recording session.
This was one of the best birthday parties we’ve ever had for Logan. It was like magic that the musically talented staff could wrangle up all the kids at the party, hold their attention, train them on the musical instruments and teach them vocals, practice and record a professional quality product that the kids and their parents can enjoy forever.
After the recording session was over, we treated the kids to pizza and cake and there was still a little time left to practice a live jam session. The staff at the Bethesda location was amazing! Their customer service was impeccable. We are already making plans to visit the McLean location and return to the Bethesda location for more classes and camps!
