If you are expecting a child in 2018 and don’t have a name picked out, just look at what has been trending in recent years. Since 1937, every top 10 name in a given year was in the top 25 the year before.
However, there are always names on the rise that must be considered. The team at Names.org today released predictions for the Top 10 Most Popular Baby Names in 2018.
- Top Baby Boys Names in 2018: While Noah and Liam are predicted to remain in the top two spots, look out for names on the rise including Benjamin, Oliver, Elijah and Lucas. For parents looking to be ahead of the curve, trendy names that could soon crack the Top 10 include Jaxon, Grayson and Aiden.
- Top Baby Girl Names in 2018: While Olivia, Emma and Ava remain in the top three, look out for names on the rise including Charlotte, Mia, Harper and Amelia. For parents looking to be a bit more unique, trendy names that could soon crack the Top 10 include Ella, Sophia and Zoey.
Since Social Security does not release 2017 totals until summer, the predictions are based on Social Security data on actual births in recent years combined with user interest on Names.org.
